MINI is revving up its electric lineup with two new sporty models. Photos and details of the electric MINI Cooper John Cooper Works (JCW) and Aceman JCW leaked ahead of their official debut.
The leak came from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This government body approves all new cars before they hit the market. Because MINI makes these models in China, the info slipped out early.
Both new JCW models pack a punch. They boast 255 horsepower, up from 215 in the regular versions. This extra power comes from a beefed-up electric motor. The cars will likely use MINI’s larger 54.2 kWh battery. However, the added oomph might cut down on driving range.

The MINI Cooper JCW E is set to zoom. It can hit a top speed of 124 mph. While MINI hasn’t shared exact acceleration times, it should beat the standard model’s 0-62 mph sprint of 6.7 seconds.
As for the Aceman JCW, it’s a bit heftier. It weighs in at 3,897 pounds, about 216 pounds more than its Cooper cousin. This crossover sits between the Cooper and the larger Countryman in MINI’s lineup. It measures 161 inches long, 69 inches wide, and 60 inches tall.
Both JCW models sport a racier look. They feature new bumpers, side skirts, and roof spoilers. Blacked-out trim and red accents add to the sporty vibe. The cars roll on special 18- or 19-inch wheels. Inside, expect grippier seats and JCW badges throughout.
MINI plans to show off these electric hot rods at the Paris Motor Show in mid-October. Production kicks off in January 2025 in China. There’s talk of moving some production to the UK after 2026.
For now, MINI won’t sell the Aceman in the United States. But that could change once production shifts to Europe.
