How Wheel Front Marketplace works
Every sale on Wheel Front goes through escrow. The buyer's payment is held by our payment partners, Trustap and Airwallex, and is only released to the seller after the buyer has received and inspected the wheels.
Overview
A private wheel sale usually comes down to one question: who goes first? If the buyer pays first, they risk a seller who never ships. If the seller ships first, they risk a buyer who never pays.
Escrow removes that question. The buyer pays into a protected account, the seller ships knowing the money is already there, and the funds move to the seller only once the buyer confirms the wheels match what was agreed.
Each transaction follows six steps.
The six steps
1. Offer and Deal Sheet
The buyer and seller agree on a price in the marketplace chat. Both then sign a Deal Sheet, which records the exact wheel specification, the condition and the final price. The Deal Sheet is what the wheels are checked against at delivery.
2. Payment
The buyer receives payment details and pays through our payment partners, Trustap or Airwallex. The money goes into escrow, not to the seller.
3. Funds verified
Our finance team checks that the payment has arrived in the Wheel Front® escrow account. Nothing ships until this is confirmed.
4. Shipping
The seller is told the funds are secured. They upload photos of the wheels before packing and add a valid tracking number. Sellers have 7 days to ship. If they don't, the buyer is refunded in full.
5. Delivery and inspection
Once the wheels are delivered, the buyer has 3 days to inspect them. If everything matches the Deal Sheet, they select Confirm receipt. If something is different, they select Report issue and the payout is held while we review it.
6. Payout
When the buyer confirms receipt, or the 3-day inspection period ends without a dispute, Wheel Front® releases the funds to the seller's bank account and the listing is archived.
Why escrow
PayPal, Venmo and direct bank transfers move money straight from one person to another, so one side always carries the risk. With escrow, neither side has to trust the other first.
For buyers
- The seller can't disappear with your money after you pay.
- Your money is protected if the wheels arrive damaged.
- You get a full refund if the seller doesn't ship within 7 days.
- You have 3 days to inspect the wheels in person before the sale completes.
For sellers
- You're protected from chargebacks.
- Fake "payment sent" emails don't work, because you ship only after we confirm the funds.
- The money is secured before the wheels leave your hands.
- Your pre-packing photos and the signed Deal Sheet protect you against false damage claims.
