XPENG has officially launched its highly anticipated X9 minivan for the Chinese market.
The new 7-seater model ushers in a flagship vehicle built on XPENG’s next-generation SEPA 2.0 architecture.
Priced from $51,000 to $60,000, the versatile X9 “transforms” from a roomy minivan into a spacious SUV with the click of a button. This gives families a choice between maximum passenger capacity or increased cargo room.
“With the X9, we’re redefining expectations of what an electric minivan can deliver in terms of smart technology, interior space, driving dynamics and safety,” said XPENG CEO He Xiaopeng.
Advanced Intelligence
Artificial intelligence permeates throughout the X9 experience. The minivan comes loaded with XPENG’s latest XNGP autonomous driving system and XOS Tianji infotainment software.
XNGP enables a full range of self-driving functionality like automated parking, lane centering and emergency braking. It works on roads with or without HD mapping.
Meanwhile, XOS Tianji transforms the cabin into a smart cockpit. Its central screen multitasks across media, navigation and vehicle data. An AI assistant handles commands and offers safety alerts.
Spacious, Comfortable Cabin
Designed for both individual and family use, the X9 delivers class-leading interior space thanks to its long 3,300mm wheelbase. Seven adults can ride comfortably, even when carrying sports equipment or camping gear.
Occupants stay comfortable thanks to quad-zone climate control and heated/cooled cup holders. They also stay entertained with a 21.4-inch display and sound system.
Nimble Handling
Despite its size, the X9 handles nimbly thanks to rear-wheel steering and adaptive air suspension. This enables a tiny 5.4m turning circle for effortless parking and city driving.
The air springs automatically firm up when cornering to reduce body roll. Damping constantly adjusts based on conditions for a smooth ride.
Ultra-Fast Charging, 370kW Performance
Using an 800-volt electrical architecture, the X9 recharges 300km of range in just 10 minutes. This leverages advanced 3C battery cells and silicon carbide components.
XPENG’s newest XPower powertrain churns out 370kW of power from its dual motors. 0-100km/h acceleration takes just 5.7 seconds. Top speed reaches 200 km/h.
Pricing starts from $51,000 in China. First deliveries to customers begin immediately, capping an exciting launch for XPENG’s flagship minivan.
