Sometimes you chase a story and come up empty. That’s exactly what happened when we followed BMW’s latest PressClub link, only to land on a dead page with nothing but generic navigation and CO2 disclaimers. No announcement, no specs, no news.
It’s not uncommon for automakers to pull or redirect press materials before an official embargo lifts. BMW may have jumped the gun on a release, or the page could have been staged for internal testing and accidentally gone live. Either way, the internet noticed.
What we did find were scattered references to MINI John Cooper Works models buried in the site’s technical specification links. That suggests the dead page may have been tied to an upcoming JCW announcement. MINI has been gradually electrifying its lineup, and a hot JCW variant would fit the current product cadence perfectly.
We’ll keep digging on this one. BMW and MINI tend to time their reveals around major European auto shows, so whatever was behind that broken link likely won’t stay hidden for long. If history is any guide, a proper announcement is probably days away rather than weeks.
Stay tuned. When the real story drops, we’ll have it covered.
