Storyteller Overland has taken the Ineos Grenadier and turned it into a fully certified, turnkey overlanding camper with a sticker price of $198,888. The company calls it the Grand Bohemian, and the first production units are rolling off the line now at Storyteller’s Global Expedition Vehicles plant in Springfield, Missouri.
The base vehicle is a 2027 Grenadier Trialmaster, which means body-on-frame construction, solid axles, triple locking differentials, and BMW’s proven 3.0-liter inline-six mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic. It’s the closest thing to an old Defender that anyone currently builds, and Storyteller knew it.
Even before we ever fully built out our first MODE Adventure Van, we were dreaming about creating a world’s first turnkey micro camper like the Grand Bohemian,” said founder and CEO Jeffrey Hunter. “But it wasn’t until Jim Ratcliffe and the good people at INEOS dared to bring the Grenadier to market that we finally had the right platform.”
The conversion is thorough. An Alu-Cab Silenus pop-top roof creates a sleeping platform above and standing room inside. Below, a leather-covered L-shaped bench doubles as lounge space and a second sleep area.
There’s a stainless-steel sink with folding faucet, a portable induction cooktop, a 21-quart dual-zone refrigerator/freezer, and a composting toilet. A 10.5-gallon fresh water tank and Guzzle H2O filtration system handle drinking water. A fuel-fired hydronic system provides heat for both the cabin and the water supply.

Power comes from 5,400 watt-hours of Lithionics batteries managed by a Redarc control system, charged by 400 watts of rooftop solar, the vehicle’s alternator, or a 30-amp shore power connection. A 2,000-watt inverter feeds four 110-volt outlets, and six USB ports keep smaller devices alive. Outside, a 270-degree batwing awning creates a covered living area, and an exterior shower mounts to the rear door.
The off-road upgrades go well beyond cosmetics. Storyteller swapped the stock suspension for a Flarespace Evictus Prerunner kit with 2.65-inch dampers, bolted on Torque Racing Enduro wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires, and added a front-mounted winch, grille guard, and fender armor. An ARB twin-motor onboard air compressor and auxiliary lighting round out the exterior work.
The window sticker reads $278,443. The actual nationwide sales price is $198,888. That gap is large enough to raise an eyebrow, but the number that matters most might be neither of those.
Because the Grand Bohemian carries full RVIA certification, buyers can finance it as a recreational vehicle, meaning loan terms up to 15 years at rates typically well below standard auto financing. For a rig this expensive, that distinction could cut monthly payments in half compared to a conventional five-year car loan.
Storyteller also points out that building a Grenadier to this spec yourself, sourcing every component individually and paying a shop for the labor, would likely cost more. Whether that’s true depends on your builder. But the warranty coverage and nationwide service support through Storyteller’s dealer network add real value that a custom build can’t match.

Distribution will flow through existing Storyteller Overland RV dealers and select Ineos dealers, with Warner near Salt Lake City becoming the first Ineos store to carry it. The production vehicle makes its public debut at Overland Expo SoCal this week. First customer deliveries are expected by the end of March.
One notable absence: air conditioning. For a vehicle approaching $200,000, that’s a strange omission, though Storyteller suggests a portable unit could be added easily. At this price point, “easily added” shouldn’t be the customer’s problem.
