Flexis, the ambitious joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM, has officially revealed its groundbreaking lineup of all-electric, 100% urban-centric logistics vehicles. Set for commercialization in 2026, these vehicles are designed to tackle the growing demands of urban deliveries. Flexis presented its innovative range at its showroom, along with embedded software and services tailored for fleet electrification and operational efficiency.
The vehicle range, built on an EV-native skateboard platform, incorporates cutting-edge Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) electronic architecture. This allows for seamless over-the-air updates and real-time data exchange, transforming these vehicles into highly intelligent “computers on wheels.” The bold approach is further supported by collaborations with logistics giants such as Colis Privé (France), HIVED (UK), and DB Schenker (Germany).
Already, Flexis has signed letters of intent for up to 15,000 vehicles over three years, showing strong initial interest from key logistics providers in France, the UK, and Germany.
Revolutionary Design for Urban Delivery
Flexis addressed every efficiency challenge common in urban logistics. Each model in their compact lineup features a low floor height, enabling seamless parcel loading and unloading. Interiors are fully customizable and designed from scratch for functionality, rather than being adapted from retrofitted conventional vans.
The vehicles also feature high-capacity batteries supporting rapid charging—the ability to charge from 0 to 80% in under 20 minutes—and a remarkable urban range of up to 450 km per charge (WLTP).
Ergonomic designs protect drivers from physical strains, offering passenger-car-like comfort and a driving position that minimizes repetitive up-and-down movements, reducing daily physical impact.
Three Models, Infinite Possibilities
Flexis offers a trio of specialized vehicles catering to distinct urban delivery challenges:
- Step-in Van: This new concept features front sliding doors and rear shutter access, optimizing load operations. With a standing height of 1.9 meters inside, drivers can move around comfortably.
- Panel Van: Compact yet versatile, it excels in maneuverability. Designed to meet the challenges of tight urban settings, the van features a sub-1.9-meter overall height, allowing easy entry into underground parking.
- Cargo Van: Built for last-mile delivery, this model delivers maximum adaptability. Modular design allows configurations for refrigerated storage or custom hauling setups.
Flexis isn’t just developing vehicles; it aims to transform urban logistics entirely through tech-driven services. Their in-house FlexE Connect platform integrates vehicle monitoring, charging management, and even financial services into one easy-to-use ecosystem. Customers can also rely on the support of Renault and Volvo-backed service networks across Europe.
Additionally, the Customer Operations Centre enhances operational success by offering real-time diagnostics, proactive recommendations, and customized performance reports tailored to each fleet.
Industrialization Underway
Flexis has already committed €350 million in development costs alone. With twenty prototypes undergoing extensive testing since March 2024, the company enters the production phase in 2025 and anticipates full-scale manufacturing starting mid-2026 at Renault Group’s Sandouville plant in France.
