Under the hood, the Expedition is expected to keep its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine. In the current model, this engine makes between 380 and 440 horsepower, depending on the trim level. There are rumors that Ford might add a hybrid option, similar to the one found in the F-150 pickup. This hybrid powertrain could boost power to 430 horsepower while improving fuel economy.
At the rear, the 2025 Expedition appears to adopt a split tailgate design. This feature, already seen on the Lincoln Navigator, should make loading and unloading cargo easier.
